Arcanite

Arcanite is a type of crystal generated by the great Eggs that are largely clustered at the center of the world.

Appearance
Crystalline, transparent with degree of opacity depending on the color. The color varies depending on which Egg the arcanite is formed from. Glows when filled with a spell .

Properties

Anyone can infuse a Power Gem with a spell that they are able to cast by holding the power gem while casting that spell spell. The caster must be intent on the crystal while doing this, and must succeed at a concentration check with a DC equal to 10 + the spell level. Failing this check means the spell is cast normally. If there are no legitimate targets for the spell, it fizzles.

The user of the crystal must be able to use the spell they are casting normally, without the use of a scroll or other external device. This can be any type of spell (arcane, divine, psychic, etc) and either spontaneous or memorized, including spell-like abilities.

Once infused, a Power Gem continually casts that spell for the duration of the gem. The duration is dependent on the color of the gem. .

Clear Arcanite

These crystals are cold to the touch and are sometimes named Leechstones. They are completely clear and devoid of all color.

Properties

Instead of absorbing magic, Leechstones drain heat from the surrounding area. This makes them dangerous to touch, and in great quantity they can kill just by being in the vicinity. With proper care, they are excellent for use in cooling air or specific areas.
